Glenda Hird found a calling in the culinary arts and dedicated her career to the food industry. Shortly after retirement she sought out another form to nurture the artist she discovered herself to be all along. With encouragement from her grandson, Glenda took up painting over 10 years ago. Having taken painting classes across Ontario, in Florida, and in Mexico, her creative drive has been matched with her desire to improve her skill. While collage is her favourite, she works also with water colour, coldwax and oil and acrylic. Glenda takes her inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh, Matisse, Frida Kahlo and the vibrant colours of Mexico.
