Joyce Carr

Joyce is an emerging artist, looking for a new creative avenue since retirement.
Education in fine arts was not Joyce's path however her long career, in developmental services, volunteer work in areas of palliative care for both adults and children developed a passion for life itself and the beauty around it. A part time business evolved over several years with the design, production, and sales of children's hand knit and smocked fashions.This business realized teaching opportunities in these crafts. Always having an eye for what is balanced and pleasing she believes that the surfaces of a piece should be of interest and intriguing as well as the form, colour, and composition.

Joyce is a Member of the Southampton Arts Centre Board of Directors and has chaired two Exhibitions celebrating the founder of the Southampton Art School and it's 60th anniversary. Currently, Joyce is experimenting to find her preferred medium. She enjoys adding texture to her watercolours and acrylics, therefore, often producing works of mixed media.
