Ken Underwood
I am a woodworker based in Southampton, Ontario, shaped by my years as a Bruce County farmer and the time I spent cutting trees in our family woodlot. A single cherry tree sparked my love of working with wood and that spark has carried me far. While in Arizona, I acquired a piece of wood from the Petrified Wood National Forest, and I used it to create a turned bowl with a lid - one of my most meaningful pieces.
Using lathes, sanders, planers, and routers, I work with woods from the Southwestern States - Rosewood, Mesquite, Live Oak - as well as Ash and Cherry from Ontario. I love showing the diversity and beauty of these materials side-by-side. My goal is simple: to let people enjoy the raw character of wood, while giving it new life in something functional and lasting.
