Maria Hansford

My Italian heritage and the 15 years I lived in Pakistan have a great influence on my artwork. I have always loved art and creating things. Several years ago, I fell in love with bead embroidery. It is an extremely versatile technique that allows me to combine different media and materials.
My artwork includes repurposed vintage jewelry components, fused glass and vintage cabochons, and any other object that may inspire me to tell a new story through my creations.
Each piece is unique and embodies my holistic vision of the world, and it is meant to inspire and uplift its viewers.
I am a member of the Embroiderer’s Association of Canada.
