Myrt Heinrich
The wonder of nature has captivated me since childhood: painting allows me the freedom to interpret my emotion of a moment in time.
Being awed by masters in galleries in Europe and at home, and being inspired by local masters and fellow painters at Art Spark, The Southampton Art School, the Elora Art Gallery, Richard Edwards at the LaCloche Art School, a summer at the Ontario College of Art, and artists in Florida, have all added to my fascination and desire to explore with drawing and painting. Living experiences on the prairie, near the Algoma hills, with home currently on Georgian Bay, and winter stays on the Gulf of Mexico have nurtured in me an on-going wonderment of nature and the desire to create.
On my professional journey, I loved seeing the joy in children’s faces when given the opportunity for uninhibited creative expression in a safe environment with the needed tools, in class or plein air. In such sessions, the awareness of self and of the world around came naturally to the young artists.
I have displayed my paintings at the LaCloche Country Art School Alumni Show, Shoreline Artists’ Sauble Beach Show, and the Shoreline Artists Juried Show of Current Works at the Bruce County Museum. I paint in watercolours or acrylics simply for the joy of fulfilling my insatiable connection to the beauty and mystery of our home, our earth.
